How to Select Multiple Songs on Spotify

Learn how to select multiple songs on Spotify with this tutorial. Spotify has now become one of the most popular music streaming services worldwide.

You probably know that you can click and drag a song in a playlist to move it, or press Delete to remove a highlighted song. However, there may be times when you want to remove many songs from a playlist.

It’s also convenient to move songs around a playlist in batches. To select multiple songs on Spotify, hold down Ctrl (or Cmd on a Mac) and click to select multiple songs. Then, drag and drop them all in one cluster to move them to another playlist, or to a different position in the current playlist.

To remove multiple songs at once, right-click on the first song in the list, and select Delete. Then repeat this for each song. The songs will be removed at once.

You can easily select several songs listed consecutively in a playlist. Click the first one, then hold down Shift while you select the last one.

The Delete button can be clicked to remove a single track. This is done by clicking on the arrow beside the song’s title and choosing Delete. The Move buttons can be used to move one song to another track and delete a song from that track.

This is a long standing problem with music players. A lot of times I want to play a song on repeat, and have it remain at the top of the list or near the top of the list while I move around the rest of my playlist, which I usually do a lot of. I’d like to be able to make sure that one song remains at the top of the list even if I’m only listening to half of the whole playlist.

It’s possible to select multiple songs in a playlist on a computer but not on a mobile device. On an iPhone, for example, the three dots menu icon of an album/playlist shows a ‘Select Multiple Songs’ option under the ‘Add Media’ button.

It should change the layout of the song display to have a check box next to it. Next to that will be a title bar with icons and text that tell you what to do to the song. For example, “Like” will have a filled heart icon, “Unlike” will have an empty heart icon, “Add to Playlist” will have the 3 lines of a playlist and a plus icon and “Remove from Playlist” will have the 3 lines of a playlist and a minus icon.
